Frigidaire's FRA064VU1 6,000 BTU Energy Star Low Profile Window Air Conditioner
No complaints whatever. This device, ranked 6000 BTUH, cools 2 complete rooms, where a "big-box special" 10,000 BTUH device does not quite handle one (slightly smaller sized than the 2 others). Its low-profile design produces an up-and-over air circulation that disperses cool air around the space, rather of blowing directly out and straight on individuals. It has different fans for indoor cooling and outdoor condensing, so it's more efficient than an economical single-fan device and just hums when it needs to. Not that it's noisy-- at its worst it's much better than the majority of window devices I have actually seen recently.
It's a bit even more pricey than the average big-box-store device, however I think about the extra cash well invested.
It was well loaded and shown up in great order. I was a little worried because I'm a little weak, and it was a few days prior to I could get some help installing it, however the instructions were clear and every little thing "simply worked" right from the box. Recommended!
